Emily is Working on a New School for Taki Mundo
Emily is working on the grant proposal to build a new school for taki mundo – for the underprivileged deaf children – in Uruapan Michoacán, Mexico.
Emily went to Mexico City during the pre-celebrations for Day of the Dead to work with the team on the proposal for the school. Their lunch at San Angel was beyond delicious as was the scenery and colors in Mexico. Hopefully, her efforts will get the funding to build a permanent school for the children. As Emily’s mother developed a program for the hearing impaired in Chicago and was a leading educator of the deaf, Emily hopes to carry on her mission with taki mundo.
