20th Anniversary of 9-11

Emily reflected on the 20th Anniversary of 9-11.  “It’s been a tough day – 20 years – as I reflected on my story of that fateful day which changed all of our lives. I am proud to have served on the Commission and grateful to all the first responders, military service men and women, and Government (federal, state, and local) who work tirelessly to save us. As Sarah said, preparedness is key.

Preparedness is not a luxury; it is a cost of doing business and maintaining our way of life while protecting those we love.

There are key preparedness tools that enable resiliency no matter what the cause and no matter whether we can immediately control the situation.

Planning is key to our resiliency – personal or societal: No we cannot expect or often even dream of the disasters that will engulf us.  And yes, we can do our part to prevent them but in the end, it is up to us as individuals, corporations and the Government to prepare and practice those plans.
